Where STVRs are allowed

Per the City of Savannah, STVRs are permitted within the STVR overlay district (the Downtown, Victorian, and Streetcar local historic districts) and in certain non-residential zones outside it. The City defines an STVR as renting an entire dwelling unit for 30 days or less, and a certificate is required before operating. A 20% per-ward cap applies to non-owner-occupied (Type 2) parcels in the Downtown and Victorian historic districts; see Savannah STVR ward caps.

What the screener checks

The binding answer

CertScout is a screening tool, not a determination. For a binding zoning answer on a specific parcel, the City issues a Zoning Confirmation Letter for a fee. Confirm eligibility for any specific address with the City of Savannah.

CertScout is not an official government record. The City of Savannah has not reviewed or endorsed CertScout. Confirm anything that matters with the City of Savannah.
